Event Timing and Logistics

Logistics FAQ

Can we bring bags for transport to the finish area?
Yes, you can bring a small bag (backpack or small duffle) that we will transport to the finish for you. We will have a check-in station at the start area where the bags are collected and tagged with your initials. We will transport the bags to the finish area for your ride where you can collect them from us when you arrive.

What are the logistics for the bike returns to the Irvine start location?
If you have registered for the ride with a train return, your bike will be collected from you at the finish area. The bikes are then loaded on trucks for return to the start location in Irvine. We use moving blankets (sometimes called furniture pads) to protect the bikes from damage during the truck ride. When you arrive back in Irvine, we will be unloading and distributing bikes back to you.

How do you know the bikes are returned to the right owner?
All riders will be issued a pair of wrist bands when they check-in for the ride - one for you and one for your bike. The wrist bands pairs each have unique numbers that will allow us to match those numbers for verification if needed.

Is there going to be a lunch provided?
Yes, each rider will be provided a lunch at the end of their ride at the finish area.

What is the food and nutrition at the rest stops?
We will have two rest stops for the metric century and four rest stops for the full century. At the rest stops we will have a variety of nutrition snacks and hydration products from Skratch (one of our sponsors). We will also have fruit, bars, and other snacks that should keep you hydrated and fueled for the ride.

Are there restrooms at the rest stops?
Please plan accordingly, since restrooms are going to be limited at the rest stops. The good news is that there are plenty of public restrooms along the route and they will be noted clearly on the Ride-with-GPS route. We encourage you to use the public restrooms along the route to relieve congestion at the limited restrooms at the rest stops.
