MS Society Ride Support
The MS Society Ride needs volunteers to perform basic mechanic service (flats, derailleur & brake adjustments, etc). The Ride will supply tubes, tire levers, chain lube, floor pumps, etc. The dates are October 16 & 17 (Sat & Sun). The Ride will start and finish at the Carlsbad Sheraton. Saturday riders head north & east and return to the Sheraton for a 50 & 75 mile ride. On Sunday, they will go south and return to the Sheraton for a 50 mile ride.

Black Star Cyn to KSOX Doppler Tower
(Start at bottom of Black Star, ride up 8 miles to Doppler Tower and back down)
Total 16 miles.
Maple Springs/Main Divide
(Trail Junction of Maple Springs Rd. and Main Divide Rd.)
Start at Maple Springs Visitors Center, ride past large gate to Maple Springs Rd, head up to Main Divide, which is about 8 miles. Caution, this is 8 miles of climbing on fire road, watch your trail signs. Very scenic in Springtime.
16 miles round trip.
Bommer Cyn Geo Peak Marker
(Intersection of Missing Link and Fence Line at the top of trail)
Start at Quail Hill Trail Head ride up Shady Cyn Dirt Bike trail to Bommer Cyn. Continue on Bommer Cyn to Morro Ridge Trail and turn right, turn right on Missing Link, ride about 1/8 mile to top and look for Geo Marker on the left. Head down Missing Link/Fence Line back to Bommer Cyn and return to Quail Hill Trail Head.
15 miles total.
West Ridge & Star Rise (Casper’s Regional Park)
(Start from Plano Trabuco and Dove Cyn behind Dove Cyn Falls)
Sonriente trail to Bell View to West Ridge to the intersection of West Ridge and Star Rise. Approx. 18 miles round trip
Old Camp-Trabuco Cyn
(Start from Rock ‘n Road in Mission Viejo) Ride over to Santiago Cyn Rd, north to Modjeska Grade, right on Modjeska Grade to the top, turn right onto Santiago Truck Trail. Santiago Truck Trail will turn into Joplin Trail and lead down into Old Camp. From the start of Santiago Truck Trail to Old Camp, is 8 miles dirt of road.
Total ride from Rock ‘n Road and back is 25 miles.
This is challenging ride.
Post your ride on Friends of OCW Facebook and/or Strava. Indicate it is part of the Five Star Peak Challenge and put the appropriate number of stars next to your post title to indicate where you are in the challenge. (e.g. 1 star for 1st one, 2 for 2nd)
Be aware of weather conditions, traffic, road closures, and availability of supplies. You climb these at your own risk.
