Are you ready to ride the Bear? how about Amtrak?

Come out and let’s get ready to ride the Bear, or how about Amtrak?  Training will get you the base miles you need for the upcoming summer centuries.  We will start by riding easy low miles and then ramping up slowly over the next few months to riding 80 and 90 miles over different and harder terrain by the end of May.

Two weeks before The Bear we will ride 119 miles from Irvine to Ice House Canyon (Mt. Baldy) and then down Glendora Mountain Road and back to Irvine!  You will then be assured you’ll have a GREAT Bear experience on your bike.

During the summer we’ll meet again for Ride Around Saddleback Mountain.  Another challenging day on the bike with 160 miles riding through Mission Viejo, San Clemente, San Luis Rey, Bonsall, Temecula!

Then to close out the 2011 Training year we offer the Palm Desert Fun Weekend to our members; two centuries in one 3 day weekend with social gatherings in between.

Training starts Saturday March 5 at Orchard Hills shopping center located on the corner of Culver and Portola in Irvine.

Ride starts promptly at 8:30am.

Once the rides get longer in distance we will then shove off no later than 8:00.

Stay around after the ride for coffee at Peet’s or lunch at La Sirena Grill located in Orchard Hills.  Don’t forget the chocolate cookies!!

See you March 5!
