FRANK NEAL, RESUME

Eiffel Tower 1999

Until I was 42, I was a competitive tennis player. Suddenly a rotator cuff tear stopped that. I was gaining weight and getting really cranky! A concerned co-worker, a cyclist, asked me if I had ever tried cycling. Yeah, that was my means of commuting during college. I tried it again, at age 42, and I got hooked…BIG TIME on cycling. Since then, I have toured all over CA, UT, AZ, HI, and CO. I got hooked on ultra distance with 60 California Triple Crown Double Centuries and I am in the CTC Hall of Fame. I have been on the OCW Board of Directors since 1993. My greatest cycling experience is a Finish at Paris-Brest-Paris. My greatest cycling accomplishment is giving back to the sport that I love. I remember my roots. I have done a Safe Cycling booth at community events since 2009. In 2011 I did my 28th Safe Cycling booth and I have to tell you that I enjoyed each one and each cyclist I have met and given new education about safe cycling. I am now privileged to be a League of American Bicyclist Cycling Instructor. It just doesn’t get better than this! Safe cycling to all!
