Did you know: 50% of all bicycle accidents are classed as “solo”? That means they were not involved with anyone, except the cyclists.
They are due to a wide variety of reasons: Debris, potholes, rocks, swerving around parked cars, turning on wet steel plates, wet manhole covers, too fast down hills, sand, gravel, and a whole bunch more. You know them and have to be just more careful around them.
These are avoidable. Cyclists just need to be more aware of what is in front of them.
We can be safe if we are just more aware of what is in front of us and deal with it before it is a problem.
